Blue Diamond Riley Services Limited is proud to announce the recruitment of two Apprentice Mechanics after they were accepted onto the latest co-hort of the Heritage Skills Academy’s Historic Vehicle Restoration Course. Jacob Ewers and Patrick Arney are Blue Diamond’s 2nd and 3rd apprentices to have joined this prestigious course, following the footsteps of Daniel Hunter who joined the training course back in 2015.
Prior to joining Blue Diamond, Jacob (19) completed a 2-year course in Motorsport Engineering at Bicester and Banbury College. Patrick (20) recently completed a course in Automotive Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University. Both were recruited by HSA’s experienced team, and will now work on a 40-month programme culminating in their end point evaluation where they must pass a rigorous skills assessment before graduating to full-time employment.
Blue Diamond Riley Services has been fortunate to have apprentices since its doors opened years ago. John Lomas, Managing Director, is a strong supporter of the younger generation. He says, “It’s an exciting time for the younger generation to be able to experience true hands-on experience of these vintage cars – we are delighted to work with HSA again. We have been very fortunate to be able to grow our team over the years and our apprenticeship programme is a key part of that. Jacob and Patrick’s experience and industry knowledge shows their commitment to the future of our industry-- and our desire to continue to be one of the leading pre-war car restoration companies in the country.”
