The Monte Carlo Classique 2019

The Blue Diamond Riley Services team is thrilled to be participating in the 2019 Monte Carlo Classique Rally for the 3rd time. This time, we’ve grown our team from 1 car to 6! Departing from Clydebank on Wednesday 30th January, the rally will once again pass through Banbury and finish in Monte Carlo on 2nd February.

The BDRS team is comprised of a 1931 Riley 9 WD Tourer, 1933 Riley 9 Monaco, 2 Riley Sprites (including the car that competed in the Monte in 1936 and finished 68th!), a 1936 Riley 12/4 Kestrel, and a 1949 MG TC. Both the TC and 9 WD are veterans of the Monte having completed the event in 2018 and 2016, respectively. The team also has a truly international feel with two crews travelling from America to compete. All 6 cars will be departing from Clydebank for the Classique alongside the Historique competitors and the Monte Heritage runs. The large daily distances, high altitudes and steep gradients will challenge the cars, but the cold, wet and potentially snowy weather could challenge the driver and navigator teams just as much.
On the 31st January, the Monte Carlo Historique and Classique are passing through Banbury town centre.  The stop will be a chance for the veteran vehicles to be serviced by Blue Diamond Riley Services and for the drivers and navigators to take a rest and eat. In addition, the council are celebrating the passage control with a large display of classic, historic and general vehicles. Car enthusiasts and owners are invited to enjoy the collection of cars and share in the excitement of the Monte Carlo. If you would like to be a part of this  exciting event, please complete the Vehicle Display Entry Form, and return it along with the signed declaration to
Further updates on the crews, event, and the preparation will be shared over the coming weeks so  stay with us for more updates..
