The Vintage Sports Car Club (VSCC) Prescott meeting is often called the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of vintage motoring. I prefer to call it the Wimbledon of the racing season.
It offers a superb mix of racing, scenery, an orchard car park worthy of any event worldwide and occasionally, good weather.
2015 saw Blue Diamond break new ground and have a stand at the event and also sponsor ‘Class 9’.
This allowed us to showcase some of our restoration work that was in the workshop and also meet our racing customers.
The sun had fortunately been pre-ordered by the organisers and a fantastic event was on the cards.
On the Saturday, we had two Imps on display, as well as our sectioned Riley 9 engine. The latter proved especially popular with Dads, Grandads and grandchildren.
On the Sunday, we were also very honoured to have the late Garry Whyte’s TT Sprite Special on our stand. Garry was a great friend of myself and the Blue Diamond team and his parents Duncan and Linda have supported me greatly over the last 12 months.
Below is a picture of the 1st and 2nd place drivers in class 9 being presented with their prizes by Natasha and I. BD is a family affair after all.
I am pleased to announce that myself and the team will be back at VSCC Prescott in 2016 and will be continuing with our sponsorship of class 9.
We are also looking forward to displaying more of our work for you all to see.
Finally, Blue Diamond always has and always will be a family business. Sadly due to a prior social commitment I won’t have my two trusty helpers in Helen and Natasha this year so their picture is the blog’s headline!
